In thje same manner Marauders are not a prestige class after guardian or consular, they are the Sith equivalent of a sentinel (2 sabers), and assassins are not the Sith name for sentinel, but the sith name for Shadow. Every other progression decision is based around the idea that the Guardian is the melee class, the Consular is the Force class, and the Sentinel is the Skill class. The reason is that the Jedi Sentinal gets the best skills, and in KOTOR II, skills are less importnat for your main character to have. Sentinel=assassin/watchmen and guardian=marauder / jedi knight. Quick KOTOR question - which Jedi class? Jedi Weapon Master/Sith Marauder - Weapon Masters and Marauders are combat-focused PrCs. I reccomend your first play through as anything but a consular.
